Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tailr collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website, candidate job matching tools, resume and cover letter generation tools, employer hiring workspace, emails, and related services.
What we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use Tailr, and limited information from service providers and job sources. This may include:
- Account information, such as email address, authentication details, account type, and preferences.
- Candidate profile information, such as target title, skills, experience, salary range, location, career goals, saved jobs, dismissed jobs, application status, and notes.
- Resume and application data, such as uploaded files, parsed resume content, generated resumes, cover letters, interview stories, application packages, and imported job links.
- Employer workspace data, such as company name, description, website, logo, job postings, team members, invites, applicant pipeline status, and employer notes or actions.
- Billing data, such as plan, billing provider, subscription status, renewal dates, and payment-provider identifiers. We do not store full payment card or bank details.
- Communications data, such as support emails, digest or alert preferences, unsubscribe tokens, and transactional email delivery metadata.
- Usage and technical data, such as page views, product events, feature usage, device or browser information, IP address, timestamps, logs, and security events.
- Job-source data, such as public job listings, ATS feed metadata, source health records, sync runs, and public job-page view counts.

We use personal information to:
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve Tailr.
- Authenticate users, manage accounts, and enforce account limits.
- Parse resumes, generate embeddings, match candidates to jobs, explain fit, and create application materials.
- Operate employer job postings, company workspaces, team invites, applicant review, and native applications.
- Process subscriptions, prevent duplicate billing, send renewal reminders, and support refunds or disputes.
- Send transactional emails, job alerts, digests, support messages, and service notices.
- Measure product usage, debug issues, monitor source health, detect fraud or abuse, and protect users.

AI processing
Tailr uses AI systems and related providers to parse resumes, generate embeddings, score job matches, produce application materials, summarize applicant fit, and support product features. Information sent for AI processing may include resume text, job descriptions, profile preferences, application context, employer-posted role information, and related metadata.
Tailr does not make hiring decisions. Candidates should review AI-generated application materials before submitting them, and employers should not use AI scores or summaries as the sole basis for employment decisions.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate Tailr, including:
- With service providers that support hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, email delivery, payments, analytics, monitoring, job-source ingestion, and AI processing.
- With employers when a candidate applies to an employer-posted job, including the submitted resume, cover letter, application snapshot, and relevant match information.
- With company workspace members who are authorized to access the same employer account or company.
- With payment providers, such as PayPal, to create, manage, cancel, or reconcile subscriptions.
- With external sites when you choose to leave Tailr, such as applying through an external job board, employer website, or ATS.
- When required for legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, rights protection, or a business transfer such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party advertising cookies as of the effective date above. We do not store full payment card or bank details.
Cookies and local storage
Tailr uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session security, preferences, account state, and product functionality. Some browser storage may keep interface preferences, generation settings, or other local product settings on your device.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Tailr, maintain your account, support billing and security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. You may delete your account from account settings. Account deletion removes the user account and data tied to it through Tailr's account deletion flow, subject to limited retention for legal, security, billing, backup, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business purposes.
Employer application records may be retained by the employer workspace for recruiting, compliance, and business-record purposes. If you submitted information directly to an external employer, job board, or ATS outside Tailr, you must contact that third party for deletion or access requests about their copy.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and to appeal a privacy-rights decision.
California residents may request to know, access, delete, and correct personal information. You may also opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, although Tailr does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as described above. Tailr does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
To exercise privacy rights, use account settings where available or email hello@tailr.us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
International transfers
Tailr is operated from the United States. If you access Tailr from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Tailr or its service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your location.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access, row-level database controls, private storage for sensitive files, service role separation for operational tables, and monitoring for abuse. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
Tailr is not intended for children under 16. Do not use Tailr if you are under 16. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tailr changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the service or by email. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
